PADI
Divemaster or Assistant Instructor Course
Are
you ready for challenge and responsibility? Do you want to increase
your diving knowledge and skill level? Are you considering becoming
a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor?
If
you answer "yes" to one or more of these questions, then
our PADI Divemaster program is for you. You will train under and
work with experienced PADI Instructors, certified and insured Divemasters
and students. This intense, exciting program is oriented towards
divers who are self-directed and serious about their level of training.
Even if you decide not to pursue diving as a professional, you
will derive benefits that will contribute to a lifetime of diving
enjoyment. When you train as a Divemaster with Northeast Scuba,

Course
Highlights
Divemaster: Program includes numerous evening academic sessions, several instructional
and practical sessions in the pool, a minimum of five successful
sessions assisting a certified instructor and our students in the
pool and ten successful open water sessions with a certified instructor
and students. Due to our extensive open water class schedule, you
can schedule the completion of the in-water requirements in a flexible
manner to suit your needs.
Assistant
Instructor: If you choose to go on, as an Assistant Instructor
candidate you will concentrate on developing an academic presentation
style that allows you to effectively conduct classroom sessions.
Assistant Instructor opportunities include certifying students as
PADI Peak Performance Divers, conducting Discover Scuba pool sessions
and are eligible for instructor level training to conduct the PADI
Medic First Aid, DAN O2 and Equipment Specialist courses.
Prerequisites:
PADI Rescue Certification (or equivalent) and the submittal of a
PADI approved medical exam form signed by a physician. PADI Divemaster
certification is required for the PADI Assistant Instructor course.
Minimum age is 18.
Required
Equipment and Materials: Students are responsible for
providing a complete SCUBA equipment package including mask, fins,
snorkel, boots, appropriate exposure protection, (students wishing
to use dry suits must show proof of dry suit certification or they
may elect to use Northeast Scuba's dry suit option for the course),
hood, mitts or gloves, BCD with LPI , regulator with octopus or
alternate air source (not a "Spare air"), SPG, depth
gauge, timer or watch, compass, weight system, two tanks, knife,
whistle, RDP and log book. Note: some of the very basic equipment
items may be available for rental, however items such as masks,
fins, snorkels, timers, knives, and whistles must be purchased.
